NEW BALANCE: AN AMERICAN SUCCESS STORY
A LEGACY OF QUALITY AND COMFORT
New Balance, one of the earliest sneaker brands, was established in Massachusetts in 1906, well before Puma, Nike, or Adidas, initially as The New Balance Arch Company. Founder William J. Riley, a shoemaker, aimed to assist people with foot issues by creating shoes with orthopedic soles for better arch support. The brand's name, "New Balance," was inspired by the three-point support system of a chicken's foot, which Riley observed as providing excellent balance and force distribution.
Custom manufacturing techniques used for the orthopedic insoles were later applied to the brand's footwear. Consequently, great attention was given to sole technologies and comfort. Some models even come in different widths, and premium materials such as genuine pigskin leather are often used in production. All pairs are handmade.
A RUNNING REVOLUTION
After passing the company to his daughter, New Balance took a new direction, releasing its first pair of running shoes, the New Balance Trackster, in 1961. Offered in various widths, it capitalized on the growing popularity of running in the 1960s. The New Balance Trackster became known worldwide as the shoe of choice for New York marathon participants.
NEW BALANCE 327, 550, 990 SERIES, AND 2002R
The New Balance 327, 550, 990 series, and 2002R models showcase the brand's focus on comfort, quality, and style. These shoes, designed for running and lifestyle, feature premium materials and innovative designs, appealing to both athletes and streetwear fans.
A BRAND OF VALUES AND COLLABORATIONS
New Balance's commitment to excellence, quality, and innovation has led to partnerships with various brands, including JJJJound, designer Joe Freshgoods, and New York brand Aime Leon Dore. Unlike Nike or Adidas, which use ambassadors to promote their products, New Balance emphasizes design and technical features. Combining premium materials, eye-catching color combinations, and on-trend adaptations, New Balance has cemented its place in the sneaker community, catering to both men and women.
