Birth of the famous streetwear brand: Supreme

Supreme, founded in 1994 by James Jebbia, a New Yorker in his thirties, is now recognized throughout the international streetwear community. Initially, Supreme wasn't expected to become an urban icon. Jebbia opened his first store in New York City, in a small space on Lafayette Street, primarily for skaters. To mark the opening of his store, Jebbia launched three original T-shirts from the brand, simple but iconic. And guess what? These Supreme T-shirts, bearing the famous logo, sold out instantly, outselling the brand's other skating products. James Jebbia quickly realized he had created something great.

He then diversified the colors of Supreme T-shirts and expanded his product line. The Supreme logo became popular in skate, hip-hop, and rock circles around the world. Exceptional collaborations, notably with Louis Vuitton, Nike, Lacoste, and The North Face, have propelled the brand to the top. In 2018, James Jebbia received the award for Best Menswear Designer, confirming his status as a renowned designer. Matt Powell, a renowned sneaker expert, even called Supreme the "Harvard of Sneakers," highlighting its influence in the fashion empire.

Today, Supreme has no fewer than 15 stores worldwide. Each product release, whether Supreme clothing or sneakers, is a resounding success due to the limited quantity and high price, placing the brand in the highly coveted luxury segment.

The History of the Supreme Logo

A juicy little story: the Supreme logo, the famous "box logo," has generated quite a bit of discussion! Imagine, James Jebbia stole his inspiration from American artist Barbara Kruger. Her idea? To blend the world of art with that of streetwear. Jebbia has never hidden this certain inspiration. But then, when Supreme attacked the Married To The Mob founder for a logo that looked a bit too similar to hers, Barbara Kruger broke her silence, calling Supreme a "big joker." Ironically, since Supreme had originally been inspired by her! However, Barbara never wanted to launch a legal battle against Supreme for the rights to the Supreme box logo. Apparently, she was afraid of losing to the heavyweight Supreme, and what's more, she didn't have the rights to the font used... Quite a mess in the world of streetwear!

Where to buy authentic Supreme clothing?

Supreme Paris, the brand that's turning heads in the fashion world. With its ultra-limited quantities, even a simple Supreme sock becomes an object of desire sold at astronomical prices. Unfortunately, this frenzy leads to a major problem: the market is flooded with counterfeits. Imagine shelling out a small fortune for the new Supreme T-shirt that turns out to be a fake... a total disappointment!

To avoid this kind of mishap, the best thing to do is buy directly from a Supreme store. There, at least, there's no doubt about its authenticity. But be careful, you might miss out on some ultra-limited edition pieces, such as the Supreme sweater or the Supreme sweatshirt, which disappear from the shelves in the blink of an eye.

If you want to get your hands on these limited-edition gems without the risk of stumbling upon a counterfeit, turn to certified resale sites like Exclufy. With us, every Supreme garment is carefully authenticated to guarantee you a purchase with complete confidence.

So, don't wait any longer to get that Supreme T-shirt or Supreme sweatshirt you've always dreamed of!
